I Want a Portal Gun
If only because it would make us one step closer to lightsabers, at least in my book.
Okay, so, anyway, I am not dead, although I’ve been kind of poof lately. Between school and home and generalized stuff, life is coming at me a little faster than I can handle at the moment. Having an annoyed father-in-law-to-be doesn’t help either, especially when I’m not too sure what in the name of all that is oatmealy and stuffed with raisins I did wrong or didn’t do. And then, of course, I have to deal with the fact that some of the terms I’ve used my whole life suddenly aren’t part of human speech anymore, so ‘what’s up?’ gets me looked at like I’m from Jupiter and told ‘the sky’. For crying out loud, I’ve used ‘What’s up?” since I learned it as a tyke from Bugs Bunny. I just dropped the ‘doc’ part.
As for life, it really could be better. I’ve just barely managed my last two classes with C-’s, mostly since “the house repairs come first, and you get back to that online think later”…Two days later, and with only four hours to plow through a 2,500 word essay on the functionality of quantitative research as a predictor of criminality, and I’m getting sent out for a new box of screws, a 3/8 in wrench and some new square-drive drill bits. I’m seriously going to end up failing out of one of my classes and completely miss out on my Yule present to me of a Bachelor’s Degree.
Gripes aside, I’m finally back on the ball, at least when I have the free time at the end of my school week, to start back up on some of my fanfiction stories that have been idling for so long they’re running on fumes. Part of me is sad, since I lost all my research notes for one story and the editing notes for another in all the hubbub to get the house together. Possibly a permanent loss, since a lot of notepaper got tossed during the pre-painting/cleaning phase of things.
Yarg.
Truly, yarg.
Especially since those research notes were for my “Danny Phantom is the embodiment of the Fourth Horseman” and the edit notes were detailed for the first four chapters of “Maverick Hunter Zero”. Thank goodness my brain at least held onto the plans for the “Omega Cadence Protocol” that’s going to become a focal part of the story about 2/3 of the way in.
And, then, there’s the whole Jedi training thing that I’m not even sure I can finish. Say hello to someone who viably runs from leadership positions as if they are the plague. *runs away* I don’t know how I even think I can get through that section within the next two weeks.
*goes off to stab my writer’s block with a rusty wooden spork*
Later days.
